Prevent users to connect via SAP Router

Hi,

A friend of mine has granted access to their users to connect via SAP router to the corporate ECC 6 servers from home by SAPGUI because of Pandemic and all the remote working these days.

The question is: Are there methods (non firewalling, non-networking I mean) to restrict which user can access an SAP ECC server via SAP router? I don't know, maybe some settings to dictate that only users can connect via SAPGUI whose SAP Router string is empty or something like that.

Thanks.

Hi Sriram,

The Public IP can be easily shared by the users so that wouldn't be a good idea. And about the VPN, yes, you are right, and I know that any remote connectivity solution (such as Citrix, VPN, etc.) will do the work but for now I'm looking for a user based (per-user) method, if any.

Hi Ganji.

If they can install the SAPGUI but don't share the router connectivity string(public IP) if possible provide the SAPGUI connection via VPN, after taken the VPN connection then they can connect the SAPGUI.

Hi,

Sorry but I like to know that while everybody can install SAPGUI at home and insert servers information (SAP Router, Server name, etc.), How this can prevent them not coming through from SAP Router.

Hi Ganji

In my understanding, I don't think you can restrict the user-id-based access on SAProuter, in this case, you may have to remove the sap icon via a router from the logon pad, and restrict the user not to do changes in the logon pad.
