Thanks everybody!

Since there is a solution in SDK. it probably means that it cannot be done without SDK.

Hi Leon,

it should be the Type, which Taseeb showed in the picture. I'm not really sure (can't remember really) but I think this window can be opend by doule click on the field, but I have in mind, that it could be that the double click won't work on Line(Row) UDF's only on Head-UDF's.

Hi Leon,

have a look at this HowTo.

Make sure that no one is connected to your system while adding UDF's !!!

Hello, Lothar

Thanks for your reply.

I have gone through the whole document, but I did not find anything that could help me implement what I want to do.

I suppose it is impossible. I know it can be done with SDK, but without it, I am not sure.

Best Regards,

Leon

Hello leon.laikan,

Yes you can add the UDF with Tools --> User Defined Field Managements , and choose the structure it as Text as shown in image.

Thanks,

Hello Taseeb Saeed

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried your suggestion, and the UDF has been created.

Unfortunately, when I click on it (e.g. in The Sales Order Screen), no Text Box pops up.

You have to enter text directly in the field. I prefer entering text (especially long text) in a text box, because it is easier to see what you are reading. We already have a field called "Item Remarks" or RDR1.Text which does this beautifully. I am wondering if we could create a UDF having such functionality.

Best Regards,

Leon
