SAC: How to include Measure Value into Cross Calculated Measure

Hi SAC Experts,

I need to use Cross Calculation to hit the requirement of the Finance department to switch between different Measures for different calculated Measures. (See reference Article)

This is working nicely if I just need to create Restricted Measures with Cross calculation.

However I need to create a Run Rate of an existing measure -> Which is working fine if I just create a calculated measure without cross calulations:

Formula: Measure(with Value) / Actual Month * 12 (Months) = Run Rate (Cost for Full Year on Average)

But in cross calculation, I can not select the aggregated Measure Selected_Month (or any other Measures or Dimensions)...

Is there a way to get this value from Selected_Month (Aggregated Measure) into this Cross Calculation?

Thanks and greetings

Hi Carsten,

Can you please try using the "Add calculations" under Account dimension (where all measures exist under it) for creating the aggregated measure and the corresponding calculated measure .

Thanks

LN

Hi there,

Are you using the New Model or Account model? You're referencing 'cross calculations' which suggests Account Model.

If you create an 'Account Calculation' you can reference Accounts in your 'Calculated Measure'.

If you create a 'Cross Calculations' you can reference other Cross Calculations or the 'signedData' measure within this 'Calculated Measure'.

The above error suggests that you're perhaps trying to reference an Account Calculation in a Cross Calculation or vice versa.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for your comment.
Yes you are right I am using the Account Model. I understand your point and the SAC restrictions.

But is it possible to breakdown/restrict the 'signedData' measure within a new 'Calculated Measure'? So to say in Formula words: Restrict( [signedData], [Account] = "Selected_Month") ?

-> My impression is that this is not possible, as I can just steer Cross Calculation with restriction in filtering the "Account" within the story/table/object

"The above error suggests that you're perhaps trying to reference an Account Calculation in a Cross Calculation or vice versa." -> This is excalty what I require, as I can not build the same formula with cross calculation.

Thanks

Carsten

Hi Carsten,

I'd review this: Restrict and Lookup - SAP Help Portal

You cannot use these formulas at the Story-level, however, you can define them as Account calculations within the Account dimension and the 'dynamic time navigation functions' section in especial may be of help for your use case.
