Defect type codes is not restricted in Defect recording (Catalog is maintained in MIC)

Hi QM Guru,

In a quantitative MIC, I maintained catalog for defect type aiming at the codes are only available to choose from when creating defect.

But still all the defect types pop up.

Following the post, I tried to maintain Report type and assign it to work center. Still not working.

1. Is there anything missing?

2. What is the purpose for the Defect codes in MIC's catalog?

Hi Sally,

For Catalog during defect recording, you need to Define Catalog and update the same in Catalog Profile. Further, catalog profile to be assigned to below objects based on requirement,

(Decreasing priority-make sure necessary configuration are done)

1. Material Master
2. QN type
3. Record type
   

For defect codes in MIC - During result recording, when characteristics is rejected then defect codes are directly updated as defect records. On save, QN is raised.
