401 unauthorized error when consuming Odata from Java but its working well in SAP /IWFND/GW_CLIENT.

Login to SAP NetWeaver and execute /n/IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE t-code

Search for the service name and double click on it

Click on Configure SICF and double click on that node

Under logon data tab check the procedure and change this to Standard.

Unauthorized error will appear with authentication

which is User Id, password missmatch or using wrong client or SICF is configured to use SAML layer (you might be using direct access)

403 means Forbidden error which would be CSRF token or other issues.

In your case, 401 is authorization issue
