instancedetail.jpgThe solution still cannot be activated. The activation runs since today 9:09. Enclose I send you the details of the instance we try to activate. May be this helps. The VM is in the status active, the software in the status activation.

So may be we have to pay for AWS, though the Software is not running?

Pls. give us support to change the situation in order to be able to work on the system.

Thank you Jochen

Hi Jochen,

Could you please provide the the /var/log/appliance*.log files by sending them to cal.admin@sap.com?

Best regards,

Stanimir

Hi Stanimir,

where do I find them? Could you please provide detailed information on which system, how to access it and how to retrieve the logs.

I suppose we pay all the time for using AWS, because the AWS-instrance is running! See attached screenshot.aws-instance.jpg

Thank you,

Jochen

Hi Jochen,

How to use ssh is explained in the SAP Cloud Appliance Library - FAQ. Please connect to the OS of the virtual machine and collect the appliance*.log files in /var/log/.

Yes, you pay AWS while the VM is running. You can suspend it to decrease the costs.

Stanimir

Hi Stanimir,

I yesterday tried to do that following the instructions of your FAQ.

I did not succeed in connecting to the OS using Remote Desktop, the external IP was not accepted by the connected system. So please stop the VM and restart it as it was new!

I will now stop the AWS-instance.

Kind regards Jochen

Hi Jochen,

You need to connect to the OS via SSH as the OS is Linux and not Windows.

The SAP CAL Team does not have control on your instance. Only you are authorized to operate it.

Hi Stanimir,

we succeded in actvating the system. We stopped the AWS-instance, then we suspended it and activated it again.

But now:

the users we entered in the system and the users described in the documentation for the first steps do not work anymore.

Do I have to terminate the instance in CAL and then create it again in order to be able to create a new password?

Can I terminate the instance and start it again during the free trial period?

Would that work and will the system be activated without problems and accept the new password?

Best regards,

Jochen

Hi Jochen,

Yes, you can terminate the instance and create a new one.

As we could not reproduce the problem, we will need the requested logs for futher investigation.

Best regards,

Stanimir
