Hello Experts,
I have an Ad-hoc Physical Inventory (Storage-Bin-Specific) document in EWM for an empty bin. When I go to the RF and want to add a new HU system doesn't allow. An error message rises "Handling Unit & does not exist". I can not move forward. But I can count the bin as an empty bin.
Is there any way to add HU via RF when we count an empty bin?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I have this issue...I'm working on EWM inventory in RF and the system allows me to create an HU with any number despite the number range of the packaging material type. Even If I enter an HU from another storage location , the system creates this HU as if it was "new", so now, I have two Hu's with the same number but with different number product within in two different storage locations, one in MM and the other in EWM.
Please help.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
which release are you working on? Because I remember that I tried it once, and yes, I also did not manage to create the HU - but now it works. In a S/4HANA based decentral EWM, 1909. At least I am not getting the error message that the HU does not exist (a warning, but no error). There is another error coming up, which I do not understand - but the whole RF dialogue is not very self-explanatory...

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi,
I tried again, this time in embedded EWM, release 2020 FPS01. It seems to work - until I get the error message "E: HU xxx does not have a status; no save possible (/SCWM/UI_PI024)". I am stuck there, I do not understand what is missing in the moment.
But before that I only get a warning that the HU does not exist, so I would think that it does work.

Now I got it: in the end, after entering the HU and the content, I marked the HU as "complete" - then it did work.

Hello Nicola, Juergen,
I'm really interested in this topic as I hit the same problem recently.
While doing an Adhoc inventory of a bin, I can create a HU giving the "HU Number" in the HU screen :
After, the next fields opens, you can give the Packaging Material and the HU Type.
After, the HU is temporarilly created and you should get this screen :
Please notice the "X" on the left of the HU number. It means that the HU is selected. You can then use button F3 HUCmp to give a status to the HU (completed in this case). That will allow you to skip the error message E:HU does not have a status; no save possible.
As of now, I'm stuck because, I can successfully count a material, I can create an HU but I'm not able to indicate that the material I've counted is inside the HU.
The PI is saved with two item that are not nested.
nicola.dragoni I'll continue to search, and post any update here.
Let me know if you find anything.

Hello All,
For everyone that faces this issue, the steps I've described in my previous comment are correct.
To enter a product inside a HU, you have to follow the procedure as if you were counting an already existing HU : Push Enter from the screen of HU creation, right after the creation, you will then be guided to this screen :
From which you can switch to "product" :
Here you can put data for a subitem (content of the HU).

There is, but only HUs that otherwise exist in the system, just not in the bin you're currently counting. So you can not add a nonexistent HU via physical inventory
