Hi there,

have you configured the excel adapter properly and is it up and running in Data Services management Console?

There is a KBA in regards to that topic:

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/0002613701

-> Use Data Services Server Manager ($LINK_DIR/bin/svrcfg) to check and update the repository password.

Also check this post:

Best regards

Thank you very much for your answer. I did not configure the excel adapter, but I don't know how to configure it. I am not a member of s and cannot open the webpage you gave me. Please tell me in detail how to operate it. Thank you very much again, and may God bless you (Sorry, machine translation, I don’t know if it can be conveyed accurately)

Hi,

I copied the steps from the post - assuming your Data Services Server is based on Unix:

Simple steps to configure this:

  1. Go to the job server machine on Unix and cd to the $LINK_DIR/bin directory
  2. Source the environment (. ./al_env.sh) and run the server config (./svrcfg)
  3. From the menu list select "2.Configure Job Server", do you see adapter is enabled with "Y"?
  4. If not then you must enable the adapter using " e : Edit a JOB SERVER entry"
  5. Say yes to "Do you want to manage adapters" and complete
  6. If the adapter is already enabled then go the DS Management Console
  7. Select Adapter Instances > Job Server.
  8. Create a new adapter for MSExcel and name it BOExcelAdapter
  9. Start the adapter

Best regards

Julian

I found that I don't have these configuration files. What is going on? Do you have these files? Can I just paste them and run them?

Hi there,

let's try to start over. The screenshot you are sharing is also a guidance for a Unix Environment and thus you cannot find the files.

From the very first screenshot I can see your Jobserver is running on Server "dsprdsrv01" - do you have access to that machine and are you sure that this is also a Windows Server?

The reason why I am asking is because your issue and error message appear to only happen in UNIX Environments where the Jobserver is not enabled for adapters and/or no Excel adapter has been activated.

As Julian suggested, from the error message its clear that the Administrator didn't configure adapter for excel in the job server configuration during installation. Also the Adapter option is also not seen in the Data services management console. Please check with your Administrator who can confirm the below steps:

Please refer SAP Note

2611170 - How to enable Adapter Instances tab in Data Services Management Console

Steps:

To add Adapter Instances tab in Data Services Management Console. Follow these steps.

  1. Open Data Services Server Manager window.
  2. Click on Configuration Editor.
  3. Select the Job Server and click on edit.
  4. Enable the following two options:

Support adapter, message broker communication

Use SSL protocol for adapter, message broker communication.

  • Click Ok.
  • Refresh the Data Services Management Console.

If your job server is installed on Linux please follow the below steps in the blog post

https://blogs.sap.com/2015/11/17/how-to-enable-adapter-instances-in-data-services-management-console...

Thank you very much for your answers. I had other work last week and I was too busy to solve this problem. Today I contacted their maintenance service staff and responded to me, but there are some special reasons, they can't use the server, so it can only do so for the time being. . Thank you again for your reply, and may God bless everyone
