To change scope of PAC or not to change scope of PAC? i.e. defer to expert configuration.

Context: SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2105 ES - Product availability check (PAC). Assuming you need to change the scope of the availability check in SSCUI 101099. Is it a bad idea to change the existing entries for the combination of checking group and rule? If yes, this configuration step appears not categorised for expert configuration.

Do you request expert configuration anyway? i.e.Is a new Z or Y prefix checking group an option in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2105 ES? The scope is basic ATP (PAC) - not advancedATP,

Dear Morne,

Hope you are doing good.

There are four entries for the Checking Group delivered in the cloud:

NC = No Check

ST = Check against Stocks

SR = Check against reliable receipts

SP = Check against reliable and planned receipts

You can change as per your business needs. It is editable, allowed and expected.

Expert configuration is generally not recommended. However, if the above four checking groups do not suffice, because different kind of material-plant combinations have a different definition of the relevant reliable and/or planned receipts then currently expert configuration is needed to copy the existing entries for checking group and duplicate the corresponding scope of check entries.

SAP is planning to deliver deliver a new SSCUI in the next quarters that supports this. But as long as this is not delivered, expert configuration is needed.

Thanks and Regards

Dear Morne,

with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2208 it is possible to define your own checking groups by copying the standard checking groups and adapting the scope of check.

You can find details in my blog New Cloud configuration option for Availability Checks
