Workflow background step performance

Hello All,

We have some 40 odd background work-items stuck in started(In progress) mode. Would this be a reason for the system performance issues.

Since users are getting locked in SM12. Also users are getting timed out on NWBC applicatoins

Hi bhargav_007 ,

Usually, each background task is associated with a program (class method / BO Method), which runs the business logic. When a workflow is stuck in In-progress, it is highly less chance that it is still running, it would have gone into Short Dump / or times out. Once it is short dump, the user lock is released and the dialog process is also released, but until the program reaches short dump, it is high chance that the system is locked with dialog process and it affects the performance. So, for the 40 odd workitems as you mention, please check the ST22 during the time the workitem is created and in-and-around 10-20 mins time frame.
