Hi harry_08042021

It is difficult to say exactly since it depends on your payment processing timelines. Most of the times though the posting date, clearing date would also be the actual payment date. I will try to explain with two projects I had worked on.

Project 1: The vendor invoices were paid using F110 and the XML files were downloaded manually. They were than uploaded into the bank portal every alternative day by the end user due to the arrangement with their bank and vendors. In this case, even though the payment was processed and payment as well as clearing date were same, the actual payment date as per bank was T+1.

Project 2 : The customer had a direct interface to bank. So as soon as payment was processed using F110, the file was sent through an interface to the bank which processed it immediately. In this case, the posting date and clearing date were also the actual payment date as per bank.

If you use manual payment transactions like F-53 or F-58, you do have a chance to have the posting date in the past but clearing date of the date of transaction. In such case, it is best to consider the clearing date as the actual payment date.

Now you have to specify further details what is your specific scenario and than decide what would be the actual payment date.

Coming specifically to document type, the same is used to specify the nature of transaction. For example, most customers use ZP as the document type for automatic payments through F110 and KZ is used for manual payments. The below SAP Help documentation is very clear on what is the use of document type.

Thanks & Regards
