Hi,
Why is it not possible to make "buttonss (figures) with shadows. We think that figures (rectangles) work best as buttons but we are not able to make shadows on figures as this is only possible with text boxes and pictures. As a workaround we have to add a picture behind the figure and add shadow to that picture?
Is there no easier way, or could it be programmed so it is possible to add shadows on figures?shadows.jpg
Hi Thomas,
you are right, shadows are not available for shapes. I think it just wasn't a requirement so far. Please raise a feature request in the Influence Portal.
We do offer some buttons, also with mouse-over effects, in the Info Center: Icon Library Overview
You could use the "Design Roll-Over" in the Effect section and maybe define a darker border color to be shown when the mouse moves over the button. Or use the "Design Click" if you only want it to be shown when users click on the button.
Hope this helps, please mark the question as answered if it did or let me know if otherwise.
Take Care,
Kristina

Yes, it is a limitation - there's a lot of inconsistency in the properties available for 'objects that can hold text' (see https://enablenowexpert.com/?p=667) and often it's a case of finding which object type supports the properties you need.
In your case I think you can just use a Text Box with an Action, or an Active Area with a Link. You can pretty much make that look the same.
(Shape on the left, Text Box on the right).

Thank you Kristina. We have submitted a improvement request and might look into your workaround.
Best regards,
Thomas

Hi Dirk,
Thank you.
The problem is when using text boxes is that when we add our custom font in the middle the systems adds scroll bars in the box and that does not look pretty. The same thing does not happen when using shapes, even though they are the same size.
Best regards,
Thomas
