What versions of Visual Studio are compatible with CR2020?

Hello,

I am looking to upgrade from Crystal Reports 2008 to Crystal Reports 2020. In order to do so, we have to do testing on Visual Studio. So, I am wondering what versions of Visual Studio are compatible with Crystal Reports 2020. Currently, we are using Visual Studio 2017 but we are willing to upgrade if CR2020 is only compatible with VS2019.

To be clear, I am not interested in purchasing SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Visual Studio. But rather, I want to know if the regular Crystal Reports 2020 is compatible with either the 2017 or 2019 version of Microsoft Visual Studio. I have searched through the SAP Crystal Reports website as well as looked at a lot of previous posts on the SAP Community but I could not find anything on this.

I would appreciate a quick reply to this question as it is the only thing I need to move forward with the upgrade. Thank you.

Since after CR 2008 we no longer install the .NET runtime with Crystal Reports installer.

There is no charge for CR for VS, only charges are if you are going to sell your application, see the Licensing PDF on the WIKI page:

Platform link has all of the listed product we support and the installer works for all versions of VS 2010->2019.
