Hello,
I try to connect with JCo and seem to get connected.
When trying to do a check of the connection in "SM59 RFC Destinations" I get only a "connection closed".
In the RFC Trace I see the following:
>>> RfcDispatch [1] ...
Received RFCHEADER [1]: 01/LIT/IEEE/SPACE-U2/4103
Error ab_RfcSetHeader> invalid compression value received
ERROR: ab_RfcGetName [1]
Invalid protocol version detected
<* RfcDispatch [1] : returns 22:
I tried different versions of JCo 2.0.5, 2.0.10, 2.0.12 and even 2.1.6. It's always the same, and I can't find a way to influence something with compression.
What's wrong here ?
I am encountering the same error and it appears to be related to a communicating between a unicode and non-unicode application. When setting the SM59 connection to Unicode and testing with what I expected to be a Unicode enable Jco Server I encounter the same error you have here. Have you figured out this problem yet?

Hi,
it is a Java Programm acting as a "registered server program". It gets connected and registered.
The error occurs when testing the connectino in SM59.
The point is it is not a new program. It works perfectly on other customer installations.
The SAP is a Netweaver 04 SR1.
I attach the short RFC trace below, maybe that helps.
Regards
Uwe
