Pipeline material as Inhouse (BY-product) !!

Hello All

I'm in process to map CO2 in a plant getting as by-product and also being consumed in further process within plant.

Now when i think of maintaining it as Pipeline materials, it doesn't fit in Inhouse material category.

Q- How can i map CO2 generation and consumption in PP processes ?

* On confirmation- pipeline material ask for Vendor details (info record), which is not applicable here. (since it's in-house)

* If i can't stock so how will i use it next process for consumption ?

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this.

Hello,

In pipeline handling, the material does not need to be ordered and stored, therefore storage is not required. It is readily available as and when required via a pipe or pipeline (e.g. oil or water) or cable (e.g. electricity). Consumption of the material is settled with the vendor on a regular basis.

As you are producing it and consuming it too, may be you can use normal FERT Material type or copy it can create your own material type. And then you can use normal production and consumption process where you can inventories it.

I am not sure industry specific solution Power/Utilities in IS-Utilties delivered by SAP, how they map such scenario.

Please refer this blog on it

Thank you for your reply Mr. Brahmankar

* Keeping it as pipeline material is not meeting my requirement here.(since pipeline is for purchasable item)

* Not using SAP IS-Utilities in project.

* Now i can think of alternate option to keep it in separate material type and stackable item. will produce as By-product and consume from stock later.

Hope it will work fine , thank you !!
