Hello,

We are working on the Asset Manager implementation. Our customer needs to buy the devices and aquire the mobile data services. For this reason we need to know the technical requirements for SAM to perform correctly. I have found this official documentation, but it´s not enough for the customer. https://help.sap.com/viewer/5ac4a19c77dc47ce884e511d7c40bc65/2010/en-US/b64c1ff5585545cfae0dbe5a1ac3...

In order for the customer to get the correct devices, they need to know the next information:

Required storage space for SAM?

Minimum RAM?

Max attachment size?

Lastly, we understand the mobile data usage depends on many factors such as the amount of data that the customer handles through the application, but is there a metric that allow us to calculate the size of the mobile data service that the customer needs to use? For instance, the average size of each request? or based on your experience can you provide a sample of a required plan? Best Regards.

SAM iOS application is around100 to 200MBS and it doesn't have any requirement for RAM, so any device that can run the supported iOS version should be sufficient. There may not be significant mobile usage as you only need to connect during initial and delta sync. I am not aware of standard request size but it should be at most in MBS and completely depends on how much data is being downloaded

Thank you muhammad.rafay

It´s the same for Android?

And regarding the attachment upload what is the max size permitted by the app?

Best Regards.

Yes, as long as the device can run the supported Android version it should work. The APK size is less than 100MB.

There is no limitation of the attachment size from the client but there might be one from the MDK/SDK so you may have to look for their documentation but I am pretty confident that there isn't any.
