GEO map using Choropleth layer on HANA live connection

Hi Experts,

We are working on one requirement to create a Geo map based on data coming from HANA live. Could you please let me know if we require Choropleth layer to drill down on Geo map ( e.g. Country -> City) and also, do we require shape files to add to HANA if we need to use Choropleth layer in SAC.

It would be grateful if you can share your valuable inputs.

Regards,

Shruti

Hi Shruti,

following blogs of my colleague ian.henry maybe helpful in this context:

Also, you can find further community resources for geospatial in this blog:

Hi Mathias,

Thanks for sharing very informative blogs. It would be grateful if you could provide your inputs on below questions:

1> Do we require to import shape files to HANA studio if we need Choropleth layer in SAC.

2> If we have hierarchy(based on country and city) available in HANA view on which story is based upon, will it be visible in choropleth layer or any additional steps are required to use hierarchy in geo map for drill down functionality.

It would be very helpful if you could share your valuable inputs.

Regards,

Shruti

Hi Shruti,

you need to have spatial data stored in HANA in order to visualize it in SAC. The source of data (i.e. if it is a shapefile, geojson, csv,...) is not relevant. Shapfiles are one option to import spatial data into HANA. Did that answer your first question?

For the second question I cannot comment as I am lacking SAC expert knowledge.

Mathias
