More than one SLD

Hi,

My first Posting to SDN so please excuse any missed protocol.

I have within our organization multiple SLD systems. One is for XI and then we have created another for NWA. We are not permitted to use the XI SLD as the central SLD. Has any one or indeed is it possible to have a primary and secondary SLD with the later feeding the primary?

Much appreciate any ideas here.

Regards

Brian

Brian,

Depending on what your system landscape layout is (Development, Quality, Production), you can have one SLD for development and quality, and another SLD for production environment. So it is possible to have more than one SLD.

Thanks for the prompt response. I currently have a SLD for development and test and production and now we are seeing that other parts of the business are creating their own SLD's as well. What I would like to do is to create one central SLD and then get each of these other SLD's, located around the world, updating the central SLD. Have you had experience with that sort of configuration?

Brian,

Personally don't have live experience in the scenario you want to configure, but if you take a look at the "Post Installation Guide - SLD". There is a section on "Single SLD Server" that might be of some help.

You might be able to get some more info from that. The document is available on the SAP Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/)

Hope that helps.

Hi Brian,

It is indeed possible to have multiple SLD systems that feed each other. We are considering setting up two SLDs to relieve the XI SLD from any activities required by the development and test of WebDynpros.

I have read that the "data bridge" will not synchronize any manual changes to the secondary SLD. Only changes reported by RZ70 in the connected systems will be sent to the secondary SLD.

Hope this helps/Farshad
