Hi experts,

This two infrastructure belong different layer or persistence class was replaced by CDS? CDS is new one, and has upper level than persistence class?

I can imagine CDS have more 'SELECT' functionality(more unions, calculation, annotation) than persistence class. But how about 'UPDATE'? using this two together?

BRs,

Archer

Please have a look at the documentation of Object Services and CDS. You see that ABAP CDS enhances the capabilities of the ABAP Dictionary that enables you to model your persistency layer. This is quite a difference to a an ABAP framework that accesses the persistency layer by encapsulating the respective Open SQL statements.

Hi Archer,

you should have a look on BOPF: https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-45425

You can use BOPF instead of ABAP Object Services. It has some nice benefits especially when it comes to UI binding.

Regards,

Thomas.
