SAP MDG: Generated HANA search view does not meet my configuration / requirements

Hi experts,

I generated a custom HANA search view included only SAP standard entities and attributes based on following blog: https://blogs.sap.com/2017/02/16/howto...-configure-a-new-hana-search-view-for-mdg-m/. Unfortunately I did not see the generated custom HANA search view. In the next step I added the new search UIBB via SE80 -->

1. Web Dynpro: MDG_BS_GOV_COMMUNICATOR

2. Component Configuration: BS_OVP_CU

--> searchUibbs (refer to screenshot)

In the third step I checked the Config ID which is used for the search criterias (refer to screenshot).

3. Config ID: BS_CU_DQUERY_HA

The result is that I can see my new generated custom HANA search view, but not with my set entities and attributes. I have expected that the FPM Communicator picks my new generated custom HANA search and set automatically my defined attributes as search criteria.
Do you have any advises for me? Or do I need to creat a Z Config ID for my new attributes?

Please find below the step by step details, which i extracted from my system. Please let me know if these steps works.

Custom HANA Search View Generation

In MDGIMG, create a Search View under the below path

Name of the Custom HANA Search View : ZCOMP_CODE_VIEW

Description : BP Search View (HANA)

Business Object Type : 147 (BP)

Hana Package : mdg.search.bp

This attributes mentinoed in Section 1 of this documents are selected as part of this Search View as below

Generate the view and save it in a Transport

Enhancement of Search Governance Application

Component Configuration BS_OVP_BP under the Webdynpro Application MDG_BS_GOV_COMMUNICATOR has to enhanced to adopt the Custom Search View created in section

Open the configuraton and change the value for Inc. Search Help with the Search View name created in Section

Addition of Custom Fields in Search UIBB

After Successful generation of Custom Search View, the Corresponding Search UIBB Configuration BS_BP_DQUERY_HA_ADDRESS has be enhanced to include the additional attributes which has been added in the Custom Search Help

Open the Configuration and the following fields are added as part of the Search Criteria

Also, Modify the Feeder class Paramerter with the Search help name as the name of the Custom Search View created as part of Section 2.1. This will ensure, the Dynamci query during the Search Criteria is executed correctly and all the additional attributes are added in the selection criteria

Modification of PFCG Role to default the Search Method

The newly created HANA Search has to be defaulted for the End Users, so that they do not have to select the Search Method as BP Search View (HANA) every time.

Open the Role HP_LO:IT-SQUAD, go the Menu and navigate to the below option Search Business Partner. Open the Details of this application and fill the two Application Parameters with the values as below. This will ensure the Search Method is defaulted as HANA Search for all the users.

USMD_SEARCH_MODE = HA

USMD_SEARCH_HELP = ZCOMP_CODE_VIEW

Test

Finally after successful configuration, the HANA Search view will be displayed with the additional attributes as below

Hi semkum,
thanks for your detailed instruction. I did it in the meantime exactly in the same way on my system. In the next step I will analyze how to create my own search UIBB included with only specific search criterias.

Yes, in this case, you need to create a custom config and choose the available attributes from the view and put the custom config back in the wiring.

Hello semkum,
allright. I did following configuration steps.
1. Component Name: MDG_BS_GOV_COMMUNICATOR --> Configuration ID: Z_BS_OVP_CU

2. Added new Search UIBB with added attributes:

Component Name: FPM_SEARCH_UIBB --> Configuration ID: Z_BS_CU_D_QUERY_HA

Where I have to customize the configuration ID Z_BS_OCP_CU in mdgimg to trigger it in the Central Governance process?
