NWDI setup first time for SAP PO

We are planning to implementNWDI first time for SAP PO development.
CHARM is currently in-use for PO transports to production and we would like to use CM Services of NWDI.
Right-now we have multiple landscapes for various project phases, e.g DEV1/2/3/4 each have their own SAP PO DEV system. Each PO system has it's own SLD and updating to central SLD. Our understanding is there will be only 1 SAP NWDI system in the landscape connected to the DEV system and CTS+ will take care of transports to QA and PROD systems.

Please help to understand:
1. Does single NWDI system support to connect multiple development systems?
2. How does NWDI manage versioning of objects and handle any object conflicts (does it recognize changes happening in DEV1 PO and DEV4 PO?
3. SLD best practice approach to follow with single NWDI and multiple development/run-time systems (test,CONS)
4. Transport directory setup options for NWDI

Hi sudhakar.kuricheti,

As far as I could review,

1. Yes, NWDI support multiple DEV systems. You can set up your other DEV systems as tracks.

NWDI Track configuration | SAP Blogs

2. Here is how NWDI versioning works

Components Development with the NWDI (sap.com)

NWDI DTR

3. One SLD only. All you have to do it to type-in the URL of your SLD in NWDI

(NWDI -> CMS -> Landscape Configurator -> Domain Data -> External Servers -> SLD URL

4. Here is a detailed post, which include the steps to configure transport directory.

Configuration of CMS in Central NWDI & SLD to transport XI objects | SAP Blogs

Additionally, the Software Component archives ( .sca files ) must be downloaded from the Service Marketplace ( http://service.sap.com/patches ) and placed into the inbox folder of the CMS. The inbox folder can be found under the following path: <CMS Transport Directory>\CMS\inbox, where the <CMS Transport Directory> is specified in the “Domain Data” tab of the CMS Landscape Configurator).

Hopefully, this will help to shed a light on some of your questions.

Kindly accept the answer.

Cheers,

Luis
