MCF & HCM , 1 gateway server system 7.51 connecting to ECC 6.0 ERP with IS-U and to ECC 6.0 HCM?

Hi there, maybe someone of you runs a similar setup. We are running MCF for customers on a frontend server gateway system and connect it to a backend server system ECC 6.0 ERP with IS-U. Future plans are connecting another platform, employee self services like myForms oder my payStub, using the same frontend server gateway system, with a different backend system, an ECC 6.0 HCM system. I think it should be possible, making none of the backend systems a default system. Are there some other points we have to consider and think about? It is obvious, that two gateway systems, one for each task, would be a simplier solution, but an additional second gateway system would cost additional money.

Uwe - we have a similar set up - one Gateway system, ISU, MCF with ECC (and HCM).

We are migrating to S/4HANA where the Gateway server will go away as the Gateway is embedded in the S/4HANA system.

I (personally) wouldn't see the need for a second Gateway system. Do you have plans to migrate to S/4HANA in the near future? If so I recommend not adding the second Gateway server..
