SAP OPD Extractor

Hi,

Our SAP ECC still running on old release SAP ECC 6 on Oracle database (not on HANA).

We already have SAP extractor activated and feeding data into SAP BW 7.4 for years.

Now we would like to connect our SAP ECC to Azure, someone says we can do this via OPD datasource.

Do you know what is the pre-requisite and step to enable the OPD datasource? i.e. can we do this in old SAP ECC 6 running on Oracle database?

While enable the OPD datasource, will it break our existing SAP BW extraction process?

To use ODP dataSources, you don't need a Hana DB (Oracle is fine). Pre-requisites on the source side are described in note 1931427:

• PI_BASIS 730 SP 14 (part of SAP NetWeaver 7.30 SP 14)
• PI_BASIS 731 SP 16 (part of SAP NetWeaver 7.03 SP 16 and 7.31 SP 16)
• PI_BASIS 740 SP 11 (part of SAP NetWeaver 7.40 SP 11)

And the same dataSource can be used as an ODP dataSource (used by Azure in your case) and by as a "classical' datasource (BW in your case) without disturbance.
