Use hierarchy nodes in dropdowns in SAP Analytics Cloud

Hello All,

I have a BW hierarchy where I have 2 text nodes and a value node.

Example :

For Company Code

Asia

India

CC01

CC02

Bhutan

CC03

I want to show Asia under the dropdown of region, India Bhutan under drop down of Country and it should be cascading.

How can I achieve this using Application Designer ?

Any help would be highly apreciated.

Regards,

Megh

Hi

To meet the above requirement we have a wok around.

please follow the below step.

step1. create a chart or table with a selected level hierarchy as level 1

step 2 create a chart or table with a selected level hierarchy as level 2

step 3 create a chart or table with a selected level hierarchy as level 3

Now follow this bog how we create cascaded prompt in the SAC application.

https://blogs.sap.com/2020/06/24/create-cascading-dropdown-in-sac-designer-without-hierarchy/

so in the above blog, we used only one chart and in your case, we have to use a 3 chart to get data.

Thanks,

Saurabh S.

Hello Saurabh,

Thanks a lot for your response.

In your example I guess, PROD 1, PROD 2 and PROD 3 are present as separate columns in the dataset, whereas in my case since its a company code hierarchy, all the nodes are present under same column while you do a getResultSet().

Need some suggestion on how to have the nodes in separate columns, this will help me in applying cascading filters
