Dear All ,

Can you advise on the scenario where we want to have this 4 system landscape in CHARM :

DEV ---> QAS ---> PREPROD (Virtual) ---> PROD (Virtual)

It works fine for a 3 system landscape with virtual prod but not with the above .

We are using Solman 7.2 SP11 with Focused Build Release Cycles

Please let me know if you have any tips for the same !

Thanks,

Shaswat

Hello Shaswat,

You can always create virtual system with SID even when the system is not build and proceed with ChaRM configuration. Below link provides more details on how to create system as virtual:

Greetings shaswat.c,

CHARM supports up to 4 systems without further customization. So, the short answer is - it should work. The fact that you have focused build should not influence on CHARM standard functionality.

In your post, you've asked for tips. Here is what I would look at, which is very much aligned with the following SAP note: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2628686

  • Review the role assignment for each managed system is correctly defined
  • Validate the actions for the different statuses are defined accordingly
  • There are differences in configurations when using normal, standard, and urgent change requests. For instance, standard change document type does not have SOCM actions that perform the transport request imports automatically. On the other, normal change documents have SOCM actions (just like urgent CRs), but only when utilizing Preliminary Import.

This is where I would start the troubleshooting. Hopefully, it will help you ask the right questions to your team.

Kindly accept the answer if you consider it helped to address your topic.

BTW, It will be great if you can share the outcome once you have it addressed.

Cheers,

Luis
