Hi,

Has anyone implemented flow racks in SAP WM (not EWM)? If so, could you please share with me what solution was chosen here?

Thanks a lot,

Joris

Since the challenges are manifold with any warehouse you better post straight away what issues you have what you already did and where exactly you struggle.

Hi

We are about to install flow racks and I would like to know what set up can be done for this in standard ECC6.

Thanks

Joris,

Of course it can be done... there is no "flow-rack setup", but there are many ways what ever you are looking for can be accommodated. It would be helpful if you respond to Jürgen and Balaji with more specifics so that we know what issues you are facing, what you tried and didn't... and then we can be more specific with your answers.

Until then, I can just tell you that I have implemented at least 4 different solutions in the past based on the customer's requirements - it can be just WM or in conjunction with PP or Kanbans or completely custom. We can't help until you start narrowing things down for us.

Hello,

I have the same question as Joris, I'm implementing a flow rack configuration in WM, the functionality needed is that each bin will take up to 12 pallets, no mix of batch/expiratoin date, no mix sku and remove strategy is FIFO. This is in a production facility where all the product coming from production has to be putaway into the rack before shipping.

I started the configuration as a Bulk area bin, where I can determine the number of stacks per bin.

I will try not to create two bin locations (one per side) but to use the same bin number id for the front and the back of the rack.

The system will fist look for a bin with the same batch/sku/exp date and then will look for next empty bin.

the SU is not assigned to the pick ticket when it is printed, it will only show you bin, qty and sku

the system will direct you to the correct bin

when the pallet is removed from the location by scanning, the SU will be added to the pick ticket.

Do you think this is the correct approach for this kind of storage?

please confirm

Hello

I would need a solution to set up flow racks for product that is HU managed for a rack 80 isles wide, 6 bins high. The external flowrack software requires the bin name where the material is received to be different from the bin where the picking is done from. We dont use EWM, just WM. No PP involved just purchase/receive & pick and issue for sales.
