Was purchase accounting replaced by new functionality in S4HANA?

I'm helping a customer research Purchase Accounting for S/4 HANA. Purchase accounts help you get the details of all the purchases made in a period, typically required to some legal reporting in these countries companies need to present a purchase ledger for statutory reporting. Purchase accounting is a legal requirement for Roman countries like Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain.

Most of the documents regarding Purchase Accounting are very dated ( 2004, 2007, 2011, etc ) or within the Business by design topic. Is there a new feature or function that helps S4 HANA customers manage the details of their purchases throughout the year for countries like France and Belgium? I don't see many recent documents or threads regarding Purchase Account Posting.

Thank you in advance for any insight you can lend.

Hi Peter

My understanding is Purchase accounting is still valid in S/4HANA and this functionality works as it was in ECC & I did not find any where that this purchase accounting has been simplified with S/4.

I also find this blog which you can find useful & would suggest you to test one small scenario to make sure this meets the customer expectations.
