include new field Product allocation catalog s4hana

We needs include 'Z' fields in Product Allocation Catalog. SAP Documentation shows the use of ( Custom Fields and Logic ) by SAP Note 2691783.

Is the configuration functional or is it necessary to involve an Abap developer?

I was able to figure that out. No additional abap development necessary. The App itself creates append structures in the underlying standard tables.

I needed to add a custom field to the Sales Order Item. I had to select Business Context as Sales Document Item, and select Form Templates as Sales Order. That made it available for us to add that custom field to Product Allocation in the aATP configuration.

Starting with SAP S/4HANA 1909 FPS 1, you can also extend the catalog for Backorder Processing.
