How do I get the Repository Get tool for Eclipse Neon for SAP HANA client?

I have Eclipse Neon installed with the SAP HANA tools from I am able to connect to my HCP trial MDC database instance and also check out content to my local workspace.

As per Thomas Jung's Open SAP HANA course, there should be a way to get the HANA client software and configure Eclipse to integrate with the Repository Get functionality which is mentioned in Week 1, Unit 2: SAP HANA Application Development Tools.

However, under the Eclipse->Preferences->SAP HANA->Repository, I do not see the Repository Access menu where I can fill in the HANA Repository Client (Regi) location.

Do I get this from SAP HANA Client Software Packages ->Download in the The location has changed since the course - so I am not sure where to get this if in fact it is needed. Or is this functionality already built into the newer Neon HANA libraries when installing the software from Eclipse.

Any help is appreciated.

The settings shown in the video are not necessary anymore (the information is already ~2 years old). You just have to switch to the "SAP HANA Development" perspective in Eclipse. Here you get beside the Project Explorer a new tab for HANA Repositories.

    • Hi Florian - thanks. I thought that is the case. I have been able to sync the repository content and check out. So the repository get tool is irrelevant since the functionality is built into the SAP plugins.
