HANA backup restore - PRD > DEV

Hi Experts,

Restored production system HANA complete backup into newly building Dev system Hana database.

Does this still need the database instance installation from SWPM for this Dev System (or) Central instance can be installed to connect with the database as a next step?

If not, which option under the target system copy - Should be used?

Please clarify.

I'm not sure I fully understood your request. Can you please describe step by step what you are trying to achieve? If you are following the official SAP HANA documentation, please also give me link to the respective chapter you are using for this task. Thx!

sounds like a system copy to me. AFAIR, you can use the old HANA installation with the option to 'overwrite' the old database. I assume, they are on the same patch level.
