Hi all,
We are setting up event mesh to trigger integration with legacy applications. We have followed this blog:
And everything seems to be working up to the actiation of the event Channel.
When we test the channel connection before activation we get a green light:
We can activate the channel and it is showing a green light. But when we push check connection again, we get this error:
When we check the daemons in SMDAEMON, we see that no daemon has started. The daemons we need are in the 'Start-Up configuration'-screen in status 'pending':
Has anyone seen this problem before?
Thanks,
Philip
Hi Tobias,
In the mean time I got a little further. Turns out it was related to the authorizations. But I had to completely remove the channel and create a new one. Then the daemons started up fine.
Now the events I raise go to the acknowledged pane in the event monitor. I can also see a green light in event trace when I switch it on. The status is 'Receiver started correctly' as described in your blog.
So it looks to be going fine. But I still cannot see any messages in the event mesh.
Do you have any other hints?
Thanks!
Philip

I have implemented this role and added to my user. But the daemons are still not starting.

I have SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles on my user. No issues in SU53.

After that try to de-activate and activate the channel again and check if the daemons start.
There are no entries in the table for this report.

Hi Tobias,
I went through your blog like 5 times. thanks for that blog 🙂
The rules in the mesh are very open. I have this
${namespace}/* to publish and subscribe on both topic and queue.
And the namespaces are corresponding.
I can also see my channel in the event mesh and subscribe queues to topics from the channel.
The daemons are just not starting in S4. Is there any background job or such that needs to be scheduled for this?
Thanks,
Philip

Hi Philip,
have you had a look at my blog post already? https://blogs.sap.com/2020/08/27/enterprise-event-enablement-troubleshooting/
One reason might be, that the rules for the Event Mesh instance are not fitting to your use-case. Are the rules allowing to publish to the name-space that you habe defined as the topic-space for your channel?
Can you have a look at TA /n/IWXBE/EEE_SUPPORT -> Report: /IWXBE/R_EVENT_MONITOR and check if there are entries in the table? If yes what is the status of those events?
Best Regards,
Tobias
