Hi All,
We do real time replication of a number of ERP tables to a Hana Side Car with the use of SLT (SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server). Does anyone know if you can use dynamic tiering on those tables? Or if that disrupts the SLT replication software?
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
Dynamic Tiering was introduced with SPS 09 back in 2014. Since, data tiering has much evolved. Recommend to look into native storage extensions (NSE); this technology requires no changes to the application / client (SLT).

Thanks Robert and Denys, thats given me heaps to read about. Much appreciated.

As Denys said, for any new data tiering implementation in HANA you should be using NSE as the primary option.
If you have already implemented HANA dynamic tiering, then yes SLT can write to extended or multistore tables as a destination. The preferred approach there would be to use a multistore table where SLT was writing to a partition that is in memory and then periodically move older partitions from default (in memory) storage to extended storage.
