Number of material documents generated during one step storage location stock transfer

It says that two material documents are generated, one during the GI and another during GR of the receiving storage location.

But how is this possible? I only found one material document while experimenting with this scenario. Is there any background material document that we cant see?

In Matdoc display, you can see 'From' and 'Destination' in one matdoc.

Technically, SAP will create two items for one matdoc in table MSEG:

Item '1' for 'From' transaction in matdoc display.

Item '2' created automatically by SAP for 'Destination' transaction in matdoc display.

It doesn't say that two material documents will be created. It says that two material document items will be created. Indeed in one-step STO process, two items are created and they are bundled on a single material document:

• removal / goods issue item
• placement / goods receipt item

Don't look for any "background" materials document. There aren't any.

But what does the creation of two items mean?

This is the material document for a one-step stock transfer between two storage locations. All it contains is the material that was transported. What are those two material document items and where can I find them?
