unbw material type

Hi Experts,

I have a query regarding material type NLag and UNBW.

Why NLAG material type has no a accounting view selected (there is value and quantity updates check boxes are blanks) where as UNBM has accounting view is selected ( where only quantity update check box is selected. What is the role of accounting view in UNBW material type and why it is not selected in material type NLAG. Please explain to clear my confusion.

It's the opposite, the UNBW has no accounting view while NLAG has the accounting view if you look at the standard configuration.

You can use the accounting view in NLAG materials for assigning valuation class which can be used for assigning G/L automatically when creating the PO if you configure GBB-VBR in OBYC for the relevant valuation classes even though the material is non-stock and non-valuated. the same can be done if you add the accounting view in UNBW.

UNBW( only quantity update and no value update)- for non valuated material what is need of accounting view as we declare material is a non valuated one! .......upon posting of transaction, cost related post to a non- inventory G/L account

NLAG( no quantity and no value update)- Non stock material , no need of accounting view and upon posting transaction, cost related post to a non- inventory G/L account
