Hello Experts,
Could you please share some scenarios of Asset Write-Ups in SAP Asset Accounting.
In which situations we can use the write ups functionality in sap and how to use it.
Please guide and share your valuable inputs.
Thanks and regards,
Rudransh
Hi rajeshvisputetwentytwo
A write is generally used to adjust the APC due to a later change in the value of asset. Some of the common cases where write up could be used are:
a) The asset was not capitalized in a closed fiscal year and needs to be capitalized now.
b) Use of incorrect terms for asset master like incorrect useful life, depreciation key
c) Excessive depreciation has been posted
d) Change in value of asset due to credit memo (reduction in APC) or additional cost incurred for asset.
All these are typical use cases of write up. The t code for write is ABZU or ABZUL. You can get further information on write up

There are some good instructions here, page 3 https://umoja.un.org/sites/umoja.un.org/files/fi-aa_ja7-1-_adjustments_to_accumulated_depreciation_v...
Usually something has over depreciated; the accountants should initiate this transaction- transaction is ABZU (or in S/4HANA it is ABZUL)
