MRP Area for Non MRP relevant Storage location in S/4 HANA 2020

Hello Experts,

As a part of Pre-conversion activity in ECC we have executed SI check for S/4 HANA 2020 release and to resolve the errors related SLOC assignment ,we have executed the report " MRP_AREA_STORAGE_LOC_MIGRATION" in test mode and then actual mode.

As a result, we got to know that there are few materials are excluded from particular storage location (let's say ABCD) by setting MRP indicator "1" in MRP 4 view ( Storage location stock excluded from MRP) in material master, on other hand, majority of materials are available without that indicator (MRP Indicator= Blank) for same storage location (ABCD) as per functionality available in ECC.

Going ahead, as this functionality wont be available in S/4 2020, how we can handle this situation without assigning storage location to MRP area?

Currently, by considering HANA functionality we are thinking for below approach:

"The sloc to be excluded from MRP can be maintained in the MRP area and by default that sloc will be set to :”Exclude from MRP”, In other case where this sloc is to be considered in MRP then under material master MRP1 view – in MRP area tab we can change the MRP type to PD so that the material will be considered in MRP."

This activity involves major activity we look forward to hearing from you for alternative approach if any.

Hello

The feature of planning a storage location separately does not exist in S/4HANA and you should use MRP Areas.

SAP is implementing several features to simplify the usage of MRP Areas and you can find details below:

We appreciate your support in terms of solution and for additional information regarding MRP area Profile in S/4 2020.

However, we got to know that the only way to change material master w.r.t. storage location consideration is to change MRP type PD /ND at MRP1 view under MRP area, in case, same storage location has been used with excluding stock & including stock for different materials.

Hi Prasad,

In such case you can assign the MRP area with PD so that it will be included in MRP.
