Recursive BOM issue & impacts of removing it

Dear Experts,

Greetings !!

Issue:

Our business users complained that CS12 couldn't explode the complete Multi level BOM structure of some FG.

Analyze:

When I checked, found that, "REKU - Recursive indicator" has been set for the component. But, when I drilled down sub levels, I didn't see any material getting repeated or used again as component.

So in my Quality system, I just tried by setting "Recursiveness allowed", then saved BOM & then i found "Recursive indicator" was unchecked. Later I also removed "Recursiveness allowed" tick as well and saved.

Now my BOM exploded completely.

My Queries:

So with above case, i have 2 queries,

1) How recursive indicator got set, with header material not used as item anywhere?

2) If I ask my users to remove "Recursive indicator" & "Recursiveness allowed" for them to see multi level BOM explosion, will there be any other impact anywhere?
