Extend factory calendar to 2021

Dear UCC,

I am a TA for organizing SAP assignments in a university.

I was trying to create a new sales order in SAP, however, when I enter the date of today March 04, 2021, I get an error message saying that "this date is after the factory calendar". So I go to the main menu, enter "SCAL" and go to the factory calendar, and I find that all calendars are set valid to the end of 2020.

I tried to change the factory calendar, but this is only a view button at the bottom, there is no change/edit button. So it seems that I do not have the authorization to change the factory calendar.

Could you help me with update the valid time range of the factory calendar, or open the authorization to me to edit the factory calendar?

Thank you!

Hello,

As a general rule, SAP recommend against making changes to the factory and public holiday calendar in production clients. The standard procedure is to set up a customizing system. All changes should be made there and then imported into the production system.
The factory and public holiday calendar can therefore not be changed in a production system. The maintenance transaction evaluates the client settings. If the client is set up so that no changes are allowed, you can enter the maintenance transaction in display mode only. The same behavior applies if changes are prohibited in client-independent customizing in the client settings. You can check these settings using transaction SCC4. Double-click the relevant client.

As a result of the following settings, calendar maintenance is available in display mode only:

- Changes and Transports for Client-Specific Objects
No Changes Allowed

- Cross-Client Object Changes
No changes to cross-client customizing objects
No changes to repository/cross-client customizing objects

Check SAP Note:

574628 - Changing calendar dates in a production system

If the maintenance of calendar dates in production clients cannot be avoided, you can implement the following correction. Following the implementation of the correction, the client settings are no longer taken into account. The calendar data can be changed if the user has the relevant authorization.
