Enabling SAC Time Dimension using Live connection with SAP HANA CLOUD as the source:

Creating a Time Dimension with HANA Live connection is not working in SAC. On the HANA Live Connection Model when the Clock icon is pressed to create a new time dimension there are no Dimensions available to select.

What HANA Cloud version are you using (you can check it e.g., with following statement:

select * from m_system_overview where name='Version' )

thanks for your answer jan.zwickel. The version is 4.00.000.00.1611656024 (fa/CE2020.48). For SAC I need calculations view type cube.

please create calculation views of type Time Dimension as described in the guide. Afterwards join these time dimension views in a star-join calculation view. You should then be able to report on the star-join calculation view using the time dimension.

Greetings,hope your doing well!

Does that mean, live connection model with source as HANA CLOUD, don't support this generate dimension feature, as am too facing same issue, where no value in drop down(same as snapshot 2 shared by David) .

There is note 2723742 related to HANA 2.0, which mention to import HANA DATA ENRICHMENT delivery unit. But as in HANA CLOUD, we don't have delivery unit concepts. Can I assume,interpret this feature not supported on data source as HANA CLOUD and best practice to achieve same is creating dimension view and consume in calculation view with star join.

If this is possible with HANA CLOUD source and there some note specific to HANA CLOUD, please share and guide..
