How often does the archiving job for object CA_BUPA run?

Hi Experts,

In current release (2102) of s/4 hana cloud ES system, we need to create archiving variant and schedule archiving job in the 'manage archiving variants' app to archive busines partner.

Question is, when scheduling archiving job, there is no option for setting job starting date and time. And the archiving job won't run immediately. Often after a period of time, when I check the job in the 'monitor archiving jobs', find that the job has runned at some unclear time.

Could you guys provide some outputs about how often and when archving job would run?

Hi,

In Production mode, scheduled archiving runs are triggered by a technical job which is executed once in seven days. This frequency cannot be changed.

In Test mode, this job runs once a day at 02:00UTC so if you wanted to test to see if something can be archived you could trigger the archiving process in a Test run and check the results the next day. With this, you can check if there are issues with your ILM rules as well. Once this is successful, you can schedule a production mode run.
