Accessing the same Backend content via 2 Portals

Good day.

Landscape

External Facing Portal (accessed via the Internet), Internal (Intranet only) Portal, ECC Backend, SAP Gateway (ODATA). SAP UI5 applications being accessed from the SAP Portal.

We have developed UI5 applications that is exposed via the Portal. Is it possible to access the same UI5 Backend applications from 2 different SAP Portals - External & Internal Portal?

I suppose that the External Facing Portal and the Internal Portal are two separate systems.

If that is the case, I presume that if you perform similar configurations on both systems (creation of system objects, Single Sign On/Trust etc), it should be possible for the two portals to share the same backend systems.
