SAC - Maintain Time Dimensions: Hierarchy Not Showing

Hi Experts,

We are using SAC as a front end - on a HANA Live Connection for Reporting.

We have a Transaction view and a Time Type Dimension View, which we are using in our SAC model.

The Time Dimension view has multiple hierarchies at the semantic level.

Package - FPA_TIME_DATA

Issue - When we create the Story based on this Model, only the First Hierarchy i.e YHQMD is populating for selection.

Other hierarchies are not showing up, for further Navigation.

Kindly help and resolve this issue.

Hello Pankaj,

Live HANA connection to SAC do support multiple hierarchies provided they satisfies format and setup restrictions. Can you check and confirm if rest of the hierarchies satisfies below conditions-

• Y = Year. Format: YYYY
• H = Half-Year. Format: H1, H2 are the only valid values
• Q = Quarter. Format: YYYYQ
• M = Month. Format: YYYYMM
• W = Week. Format: YYYYWW
• D = Day. Format: YYYYMMDD

only level based time hierarchies are recognized.

data format should be (YYYY, H1/H2, YYYYQ, YYYYMM, YYYYWW, YYYY-MM-DD ).

hours, minutes, seconds not supported.

the level based hierarchy should be defined using the standard time levels: TIMEYEARS, TIMEQUARTERS, TIMEMONTHS, TIMEDAYS and Node Style should be Name Path (example bellow):

All levels are of type String, except day, which is usually of type Date.

All levels of a date hierarchy need to have the correct level type set in the SAP HANA calculation view as well, to be fully recognized as time.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Level based time hierarchies are being used in the Calc View.

Node Style is Name Path.

Attached screenshot is for the First Hierarchy which is populating in our SAC Story.

Fiscal_Year , Fiscal_Period, Date are the fields which are there in there in Time Type Dimension Calculation View (Fiscal Year)

Below is the Screenshot for other derived Fields, being used in the above Hierarchy as well as other ones.

My Concern: If with same data type and settings, the First Hierarchy i.e YHQMD is visible in our Story, other hierarchies should also be populating.
