Cloning SAP Business Objects 4.2 from one Server to another

Hi,

We recently got a new server , and the ip address and the host name are new. We did cloning of our original server and took all the necessary steps on changing the host name and other files with the respective new host name. Everything is working fine and connections are fine as well.

The only issue is the UDT and IDT still shows the old host name. The connectivity runs fine, but when i create a new Session in IDT using the new cloned Host name, it lets me log in but after log in, it shows the old server name (PITS) as the name of the session. Same goes with UDT, after i log in using the new host name, and go ahead and create a new universe, all the connections works fine, but the universe still shows that is pointing towards the old host name (PITS).

However when i log into the webi rich client, it shows the correct EW Domain Attached are 3 screenshots ( IDT,UDT and Rich Client).

Would like to know which file i need to update, so that the Universe will pick up the new host name (EW) as well, like the way Rich client is picking up.

Also attaching the CCM screenshot, where on the right side after i click Computer name, it still shows Pits one as well in the drop down ccm.png

Hi,

Hope you referred the following KBA 2034684, this scenario is not supported because of "The cloning of BO servers is not recommended as the BO installer binds quite a few entries with host name and IP address during the installation process." and also for same issues that you have mentioned.
