Waterfall-chart not working (but Bar-chart does work)

Hello fellow users,

I've created a simple bar-chart in SAC upon my Live Connection to S4HANA:

Now, if I change this to a Waterfall-chart, I get an error:

Anyone have any clue as to what is the matter here?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Kind regards,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I was facing a similar issue were, after the last wave update, waterfall charts are not populated anymore based on a live HANA connection. For this I created an incident and a fix will be applied in wave 2021.03 (scheduled to be deployed this weekend for fast track customers). Not sure if there is some correlateion but perhaps you should submit an incident as well.

Kind regards,

i Martijn,

we are not on the 'fast track', but we did get an update last weekend and it fixed the issue, so this is now fixed.

However, I'm now facing a different issue when creating the Waterfall. I've created a basic Waterfall, consisting of a Measure and 2 Dimensions (all of which are already available in the query I'm connecting to). Everything works fine as you can see below in the first image.

When I change the Measure to a Restricted Measure however (incorperating the filters on 'G/L Account' and 'Unit of Measure' you can see in image 1 into the Measure), I get an error as you can see in the second image. When I remove one of the Dimensions, it works again, but as soon as I add a second Dimension - regardless of which one - I get the error. I've added the Restricted Measure Setup as the third image.

Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

Hi stefanvandiepen

for the SAC Live connections to S/4HANA you probably need to implement SAP Notes into the embedded BW there . this sounds like Note 2745245

It's recommended to run the "BW Notes Analyzer" to detect the available 'delta' of corrections that could be implemented - see Note 2541557 and SAP recommends to do this on a quarterly basis (for interoperability with the SAC cloud front-end)

These correction will of course be rolled up in "Support Packages" for the back-end datasource, however that isn't always possible , so it's the BW-BEX-OT-BICS-INA notes which need to be topped-up

regards
