FQDN cannot be solved for s4x_v63

Hi All,

I tried to connect via SAP GUI concerning to the Instructions told in S4X v63 Getting Started Guide (ondemand.com)

In the Bootstrap File the FQDN is defined as

vh-<please input>-CS6.fsic.sap.corp

Please-Input has to be filled with the project Name. I filld the FQDN in the Field Application Server in Sap GUI. But received the message: Hostname unknown

Our Cloud Provider is AWS. By the creating the Instance I coud not change the Project Name from fsi to our Name

May that be the reason for the Error ?

Or where does SAP gets the Project Name from to connect it to the external IP Adress?

Thx in Advance for your Comments.

Regards

Marcus

Hi Michael,

I tried with fsi as Project name as well. Did not work either. Then I deleted the Instance and created a new, but wasn't able to change the project name as it is mentioned in step no 5 in Getting Started Guide.

Project = overwrite with the Project Name that you have chosen (Section 5.2.1)

What went wrong ?

Markus,

If you did not change the default project name during the instance creation - then it will be coded as "fsi".

In the bootstrap xlsx file - you put it in the project name "fsi" - then it will auto-generate the hostnames which you need copy (as noted in step 3) the entries to the hosts file.

Note: you cannot change the "project name" after the instance already created. If you want to have other "project name" - then you have to delete and re-create the instance.

Thanks

Hi Marcus,

this is a question specific to SAP CAL.

Can you please add the tag "SAP Cloud Appliance Library" to your question so that it shows up in the SAP CAL sub-forum as well (where it's monitored by the CAL experts) ?
I'll notify the colleagues in advance but still it's easier if it shows up in the right sub-forum.

Thanks, Joerg
