Changing of WWI anchor roots

We face the issue that we have different WWI Servers running in our productive landscape.

Due to historical reasons all Installations have been done slightly different esp. the anchor roots are located in different paths. E.g.:

C:\Program Files (x86)\EHS\WWI\TEMP\YEHS_WWI*

C:\temp\YEHS_WWI*

C:\WWI\TEMP\YEHS_WWI*

Is there an easy way to move all those anchor roots to the same path eg:

C:\WWI\TEMP\YEHS_WWI*.

As far as I know this can be done only when installing WWI and I don't want to reinstall any WWI com pletely new form the vey beginning.

My idea was to Change the Settings in table

ESV_TCGS8

directly and if necessary to create the relevant folders manually.

Is this a feasible option? Or is there another way to do this?

Best regards,

Gernot

I followed the "easy" way by changing the settings directly in customizing (you need either to open customzing for productive system or change rights in debugging mode hence this is was the bigger task to get all approvals) and created the folders manually on the servers. It worked quite fine.

Hi Christoph,

thank you for your reply.

Some comments from my side:

1) You're right. ESV_TCGS8 is a view. The relevant table is TCGS8. (TCGS9 contains only language-dependent descriptions).

2) Can you please explain what you mean with:

"the "manage part" of generation servers for "dev", "qual" and "prod" is sometimes "painful" but important.".

I agree but do why do you mention dev, qual and prod seperately? The only difference you have is different Servers, RFCs and so on. But all process related Settings should be the same.

3) We're currently even on WWI SP43 HF2 which is the newest version. The latest hotfix was provided on behalf of messages I opened due to some issues. Nonetheless I have a "cookbook" with our settings.

I will check further and I will inform which way was followed.

Hello

i can undertsand why you are not willing to "reinstall" all WWI new. But you should do that.

For:;

ESV_TSCGS8 is a "view" and not a table (if i remember correct).

But this approach might work (but not recommended).

Generally: the "manage part" of generation servers for "dev", "qual" and "prod" is sometimes "painful" but important.

Therefore it is important to have a "cookbook" in place (based on SAP cookbook). tomake sure that the new WWI server can be "created and llinked to SAP in "one run"

PS: currently the next WWI version is "out" (i believe SP42). Proposal would be: use current WWI version and "reinstall" on any SAP system and use a "cookbook" so that the "paths" are "similar"
