APO Split existing CVC into multiple CVC

Hi Experts,

We are using 100K CVC currently having below customer hierarchy.

Customer 1( Top ) , customer 2 , customer 3 , customer 4 ( Bottom).

Planners want to use "Customer 3" to store new customer level, which have multiple values.

E.g. Current CVC: P1 C1 C2 C3 C4

New CVC structure : P1 C1 C2 C31 C4 and P1 C1 C2 C32 C4

Can we use realignment to create new CVCs ?

What will be impact if we are increasing CVC count from 100K to 200K ?

Any other simple way of doing it ?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

As Georgia has suggested, realignment would be perfect for this activity.

When using realignment, you have the option to create new CVCs or deleting the existing source CVCs.

Increasing your CVC count from 100k to 200k will change the run time of your background jobs (depending what level of aggregation they are set to run at).

Plus, extracting data from APO will take longer, as you will have 200k CVCs against every time bucket.

If you create CVCs from your Sales cube, you will also need to realign the infocube. Here the consideration of delete source needs to be taken into more consideration, as the CVCs you have realigned could reappear.

Ali

Hi,

Sure, you can use realignment to create new CVCs. You can check more details on the wiki page about realignment:
