Dear all,
Does anyone know the difference between the available 3 order types in asset management? My customer currently has more than 10 order types which somehow have to be assigned to the cloud order types. I can't see any difference in terms of control. Can anyone help me???
Thank you and best regards
Rado
Hello radoslaw.parzentny.
How are you? Since Release 2011, there are new Scope Items for Asset Maintenance and 5 New Maintenance Order Types, that are:
YA01 = Reactive Maintenance
YA02 = Proactive Maintenance
YA03 = Improvement Maintenance
YA04 = Operational Maintenance
YA05 = Overhead Maintenance
Additionally, you have the previous Maintenance Order Types, that are:
YBA1 = Corrective Maintenance
YBA2 = Preventive Maintenance
YBA3 = Unplanned Maintenance
The definition of each new Maintenance Order Type can be saw here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/2dfa044a255f49e89a3050daf3c61c11/2011.500/en-US/5fbd47786341411992fc9915...
The difference among them is the Default Maintenance Activity Type that you can assign for each Maintenance Order Type, in the SSCUI 103650 (Default Values for Maintenance Activity Type for Each Order Type).
And, in the SSCUI 103651 (Assign Valid Maintenance Activity Types to Maintenance Order Types), you can check which Maintenance Activity Types are assigned to Maintenance Order Types.
However, it is not posible to configure new Maintenance Order Types in the Current Release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Hi Padorarzentny,
We advise you to use the new order types viz., YA01, YA02, YA03, YA04 and YA05. The new order types have phase model, where each step in the end-to-end maintenance process can be clearly identified and tracked. Only the new order types support new features, like cost approval of the work orders, phase control codes et al.,
If a customer is using order types YBA1, YBA2 and YBA3, then they should have a look at the features and the standard business process supported by the new order types and evaluate using these order types over the earlier order types.
As Juliano explained, defining new order types is not supported.
Regards,
Nageshwara Sharma
