Cross Company Posting on Statistical Projects

We are looking to leverage statistical projects for the purpose of reporting at initiative level but cost remains at emp cost centre. While this is standard use case for statistical projects, we are facing issue in cross company posting on statistical project. Is this expected behaviour?

The issue was cross company code postings were not permitted for statistical project and we wanted to get a view of such costs across organization. However we discussed workaround to have coding masks for such projects which could be used as filter / selection criteria in reporting thereby serving the requirement
