Old Product Number Length

Hi everyone,

Although the length of old product number is 40 in the product data migration template, system says "The length of the old material number must not exceed 18 characters" and I cannot upload product master with old product number longer than 18 characters. When I try to create product master with MM01, system again says "The length of the old material number must not exceed 18 characters". The length of old product number is also 40 in product API.

Customer's old product numbers are longer than 18 characters and they want to have these numbers in the system. How can I upload or create product master with old product number longer than 18 characters? Is there a way to extend the length of old product number?

I dont think this functionality is supported in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Thank you, we had already an improvement request about material number length and I commented on it by writing that there is the same situation for old product number length and the length for it is 40 on data migration template and product API.
